A solid foundation is not only essential when building a house or consuming alcohol; your parasol also benefits from a secure base. But why buy a parasol stand when a base is already included? The standard bases normally serve just one purpose: they keep the parasol upright – as long as no external forces are at play. As soon as the wind picks up or other dynamic forces come into play, your parasol is off and running, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Wind, in particular, should never be underestimated, as even smaller parasols have a canopy area of almost 10m², which is equivalent to a medium-sized sail.
The solution is right in front of you. A parasol base from our range, filled with water or sand, not only ensures rock-solid stability but also impresses with many small details. Robust and easy to assemble, this parasol base is just as easy and space-saving to store away again thanks to a clever modular system, yet still provides enormous stability. A handle is also included, so grab one...
It is advisable to fill the stand with water, sand and gravel to make it heavier. For more demanding requirements, we also offer other parasol stands with even greater weight. As a rule of thumb for better stability: Umbrella up to 2 m: approx. 20 kg Umbrella up to 3 m: approx. 40–50 kg Umbrella up to 4 m: approx. 80–100 kg Umbrella up to 5 m: approx. 125–150 kg. Calculations such as 1 kg per 10 cm of diameter are certainly not correct, as they do not take into account that the umbrella’s surface area increases exponentially. Furthermore, the base area of the umbrella stand and the height of the umbrella are also important.
