*
Teak, renowned for its exceptional durability and beauty, undergoes a lengthy maturing and drying process before it is used in furniture production. The natural maturing process of teak takes up to 50 years, by which time the tree has reached its full size and can be felled for timber. Teak is renowned for its outstanding quality and durability and is often categorised into different grades, which determine its appearance, structure and longevity. The classification into Grades A, B and C helps to understand the variety of teak available and to make the right choice for specific needs and applications.

Grade B teak comes from the outer heartwood. It contains significantly more oils and resins and has a noticeably darker colour than Grade C. Grade B teak is of very good quality, has a considerably longer lifespan than Grade C and is also suitable for wet areas (bathrooms). Slight irregularities in colour and texture result in a particularly interesting appearance. Grade C teak, on the other hand, comes from the outermost part of the tree, the sapwood. This wood has a lower density, is lighter in colour and contains hardly any natural oils.

Water-based surface treatment is a process in which protective and maintenance agents, dissolved in aqueous solutions, are applied to the wood. This treatment serves to protect the teak from external influences such as moisture, UV radiation and temperature fluctuations, without compromising the wood’s natural look and feel.

Teak from Tectona grandis is ideal for furniture due to its outstanding properties, particularly when durability, elegance and quality are prioritised.

We are committed to transparency and quality: our teak stools are made from robust and durable B-grade timber, which impresses with its uniform grain and high stability. Often, comparable products do not specify the timber grade – this could indicate that the material is of a lower quality. With us, you can be sure that you are receiving a product that impresses both visually and in terms of its durability.
